Elke B. Boyd, P.E., BCEE, Senior Civil Engineer with GREDELL Engineering Resources, Inc., presented “Considerations for Wastewater Irrigation; an Engineer’s Perspective” at this year’s Missouri Rural Water Association’s Northeast Training Day. The Training Day provided a full day of water and wastewater training in Monroe City, Missouri on January 30, 2020. Are you interested in learning more about land application for wastewater treatment, but missed the presentation? Not to worry. Just follow this link to access a PDF of the PowerPoint.
Land application is particularly attractive to small communities as well as private wastewater generators faced with regulatory challenges. It frequently presents itself as one of the solutions that is cheapest, easiest to operate and most acceptable to regulators. Each system must consider client preferences, local site conditions, existing storage capacity, space constraints, availability of suitable land, soil permeability, leased versus wholly-owned sites, single-phase versus three-phase power, funding environment, and more.
The mission of the MRWA is to be the leading source of professional services, support, and representation for Missouri water and wastewater utilities. The Association provides field and training services as well as a variety of tools and partnerships for the water and wastewater professional. Learn more about the MRWA at https://moruralwater.org.
