MWCC Rule Changes & Highlights from 40 Years of RCRA

John Browning, PE, of GREDELL Engineering Resources, Inc. recently attended the Missouri Waste Control Coalition (MWCC) Rule Changes and Highlights from 40 Years of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) seminar held at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center in Kansas City, Missouri.  The focus was RCRA compliance, cooperation and enforcement; many of the issues investigated in the beginning of RCRA are continued today.  There was an emphasis on recycling and reuse of waste materials with links to opportunities for companies, public sector and individuals to continue to divert waste back to useful products.

MWCC was formed in 1981 to bring together citizens, government, business and industry to discuss the rapidly changing field of waste management.  This seminar featured speaker Mary M. Goetz, PE, Branch Chief of Waste Enforcement & Materials Management of the Air & Waste Management Division, of the US EPA Region 7, and was a continuation of the series with the US EPA Region 7.

Browning is a Civil/Environmental Engineer with over 35 years of environmental and engineering experience in the areas of water resources, solid waste and environmental compliance.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics & Physics from Kansas Wesleyan University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from University of Kansas, and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Health Engineering from University of Kansas.  John is a member of the American Society of Military Engineers and the Kansas Alliance for Wetlands and Streams.
